Lamine Yamal will receive the highest salary Barca

Barcelona considered Lamine Yamal as a new symbol and the future of the team. Therefore, the top priority of President Joan Laporta is to extend the contract with this 17 -year -old star at all costs.

In the interview yesterday, President Joan Laporta confirmed that Lamine Yamal approved a new contract proposal from Barcelona. Yamal will officially sign the contract on July 13 this year, when he is 18 years old.

One of the most concerned details related to Lamine Yamal’s new contract is the upcoming salary. According to La Ser, Jorge Mendes – the representative of Yamal asked Barcelona to pay the Spanish player the highest salary, about 34 to 40 million euros per year before tax.

This is currently the only problem related to Yamal’s contract. Currently, Lamine Yamal’s salary is 1.67 million euros per season. Therefore, Barcelona and Jorge Mendes are still negotiating to find a common voice on this issue.

The two cases currently receiving the highest remuneration of the Catalunya team Robert Lewandowski (33 million euros per year before tax) and Frenchie de Jong (30 million euros per year). With Yamal increasingly important to the club, Laporta could not help but respond to Mendes’s offer.

There is also the idea that Mendes’s too high demand for clients causes internal instability when some veteran players think that giving a huge salary to a player is too young like Yamal will make the dressing room messy.

In addition, Yamal will also receive Barca’s No. 10 from the 2025/26 season. Currently, these shirts are owned by Ansu Fati. In the 2025 winter transfer, Barcelona reached an agreement for Fati to move to Besiktas.

However, the unsuccessful deal was rejected by the Spanish striker at the last minute. Now, Barcelona will continue to find ways to push Fati at the transfer window this year to reduce the salary fund, and hand over the No. 10 shirt to Lamine Yamal.
